Resource Trace detects media resources on web pages at the user's request. The extension does not sell user data and does not upload page content, detected URLs, cookies, request headers, browsing history, or saved media to a Resource Trace server.
Resource Trace stores the following data in Chrome local storage or session storage:
This data remains on the user's device unless paid billing is configured.
Resource Trace can use ExtensionPay to process Pro purchases. Payment pages, billing details, receipts, cancellations, and payment account records are handled by ExtensionPay and its payment processor. Resource Trace only reads whether the current extension user has an active paid status so it can unlock Pro features.
Beta builds may keep billing unconfigured. In that mode, the extension does not open checkout or charge users.
Resource Trace uses browser permissions only to provide its media inspection, authorized save, progress panel, and notification features. Network and tab permissions are used to associate media resources with user-opened pages. Download, offscreen, side panel, and notification permissions are used to save authorized resources and display progress outside the popup.
Resource Trace does not use Google API data for advertising, credit decisions, resale, or unrelated purposes.
